Yesterday was Chinese New Year (as determined by the lunar calendar). Little Mac had a fun craft time making a paper Chinese dragon (like you see in the Chinese New Year street parades).
After dinner we had our own little Chinese New Year parade around our living room. Little Mac and Daddy paraded the dragon up, down and around! Big D and Mommy played the drum! It was lots of fun!
We are enjoying learning about our little one's culture by recognizing Chinese New Year, and we are rejoicing in the fact that our calendar was forever changed because of our wonderful, savior; Jesus!
"Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth." Psalm 57:5 It is our prayer that God would be glorified in every aspect of our lives, both big and small. We hope that this blog will reflect all that He is teaching us and doing in our lives. To God be the glory!

One Step Closer
"So let's keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us." Philippians 3:15 (The Message)
Today we made one more step in our adoption process. Today was our second home study visit! It was actually pretty fun! Our social worker interviewed us separately about our autobiographies we had already submitted.
We also got a lot of paperwork turned in, and a good idea of what is left in the home study process. There is light at the end of the tunnel! (the home study tunnel, that is)
Please pray with us now that we will be disciplined in getting the rest of the home study finished quickly. I realized today that I was forgetting a very important step in the process of getting our paperwork to China. This particular step can take anywhere from 2-3 months after our home study is complete!
We were really hoping to get our paperwork sent to China at the beginning of April (we both must be 30 years old to submit papers to China, and the big 3-0 is going to get me in early April). In order for this to happen, we must get our home study finished by the end of January, and then we must pray for a quick turn around on our next step before papers can be sent.
I know that with God, all things are possible! (Matthew 19:26 & Mark 10:27)
I also know that God will give us what He has promised. We just have to wait patiently. (Hebrews 6:15)
I am so glad that God knows every step & misstep we will make during this adoption process. And I am so glad that He is THE ONE in control!
