"He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will." Ephesians 1:5
Our adoption journey began back in June 2010 with a still, small voice.
It was Father's Day, Sunday and Randall had just come home late the night before from a mission trip to Honduras. While sitting in the church service, I felt God telling me that He intended for us to begin the process to add to our family through adoption. On our way out to lunch after church, I excitedly told Randall that we had to talk. I knew that he was exhausted from his trip, and if I had chosen the best time to bring up such a serious subject this would not have been it. However, God had spoken, and you don't just keep something like that to yourself.
So I said, "Randall, we need to talk...I believe God told me this morning that we are supposed to adopt."
Randall looked back at me, and much to my disbelief he said, "You know...He has been telling me that same thing all week!"
Wow! Now why on earth would I be surprised that God would tell us both the same thing? It only makes sense that if this was truly from God, then He would give us the same message.
So two weeks later we went to our parents to give them the good news! We were expecting again! This time through the beautiful miracle of adoption.
Three weeks later we found out that we were pregnant! Once our precious, "Big D" arrived and turned 3 months old, we picked up the adoption process again.
Currently here is where we are:
*Choosing an Agency
*Praying for confirmation on the country God is leading us to
*Working on Paperwork
*Fund-raising
God has been faithful to lead us thus far, and we believe that he will continue to lead us throughout this process.
I am constantly amazed at how God patiently and lovingly lays everything out for us, so that we follow His plan.
"Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth." Psalm 57:5 It is our prayer that God would be glorified in every aspect of our lives, both big and small. We hope that this blog will reflect all that He is teaching us and doing in our lives. To God be the glory!

God is Always Up to Something
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland" Isaiah 43:19
God is always doing so much in our little family. He is constantly shaking us up, teaching us lessons and leading us down new paths. This season is definitely no exception. Here is what's going on with us:
Life with our two precious boys: God has blessed us with two wonderful little boys, "Little Mac" (3 years) & "Big D" (6 months). Keeping up with them is a 24/7 job, but we wouldn't trade it for anything! They are precious gifts from God!
Adoption Journey: We are currently in the process of growing our family through the miracle of adoption. We are all very excited as we are beginning this journey! Look for another post about the details later.
Selling our House: We are trying to sell our house in order to buy a larger home to accommodate our growing family.
Mommy's Activities:
*I host Mommy's Movie Monday twice-monthly (Mom's group/playdate that meets at my house).
*I'm enjoying Zumba twice a week with my awesome sister.
*I continue to lead vocals in Praise Team at church every other week.
*I bake lots and lots of cakes.
"Little Mac's" Activities:
*This fall we are beginning at-home preschool.
*He is participating in 3 year old choir and mission friends at church. I cannot believe he is old enough for that!
*We are also going to enjoy some one-on-one time in Mommy & Me Music Class.
"Big D's" Milestones: In the last two months "Big D" has reached many milestones! He started rolling over, sitting up on his own and eating solid food. It is so much fun to watch him grow!
I guess you could say that our plate is more than full! Praise God for his abundant love and provision. I'm excited about all of the ways that God is planning to use our family!
