Today was full of "busy work."
Eliana had her medical check-up this morning, and Randall had a paperwork meeting with our guides and the other Lifeline families this afternoon. We then enjoyed dinner with a sweet friend from home who is here adopting her daughter as well.
Eliana is continuing to do well, and she is opening up to us more and more each day. She is so much fun! She is definitely almost two years old! She is into everything!!! I really wish I could "toddler proof" our hotel room a bit better. She and her brothers are going to have so much fun together!!!
A little about Eliana:
* She is a shoe girl! We bought her two new pairs of shoes on our first day with her, and she is obsessed with them! When we are hanging out in our room, the shoes become one of her favorite toys. She likes to change her shoes and then she attempts to put her other pair of shoes on me. It's so cute, she giggles the whole time!
* She is picking up on English very quickly. She is a very smart girl! She is beginning to point to things when we ask where they are, and she responds to some of the things we ask her to do. Today we worked on flash cards, and she loved it! Her favorite one is "dog," because I always say "woof, woof." This always gets some good laughs!
* She has a love/hate relationship with her hair bows. I packed her bows in a couple of hard plastic containers, so that they wouldn't get crushed in the suitcase. Well, she loves to get those containers out and look at her bows. Today, she was playing, and she took out the cute little yellow bow in her hair, brought me one of the containers so I would open it, and proceeded to take out the big pink bow so I would put it in her hair instead. I certainly wasn't going to argue with that!!!
* She had her first stroller ride this evening. She did great! She seemed to really enjoy being in the stroller.
* Eliana said, Mama today! She said it three times, and I praised her like crazy! Lots of hugs and kisses from this mama!
